UK ETA (ELECTRONIC TRAVEL AUTHORISATION)

From 2025, anyone travelling to the United Kingdom will need to apply for a UK ETA (Electronic Travel Authorisation), regardless of the purpose of the visit, before flying, unless you are exempt.
The UK ETA is a new entry requirement for visitors from certain countries, similar to the ESTA for the USA or the ETA for Canada.
Who needs to apply?
Anyone with a British or Irish passport, diplomats and those already granted permission to enter or remain in the country, will not need a UK ETA to travel to the UK.
EU nationals can apply for a UK ETA from 5 March 2025, to enter the UK on or after 2nd April 2025.
Non-EU nationals (including from visa free countries) will need either a UK ETA or a visa to travel to the UK, depending on the length and purpose of the visit. Please check the UK Government website for more information.
Non-EU nationals can apply for a UK ETA now, for travel to the UK on or after 8th January 2025.We strongly advise that you apply for your UK ETA in good time, in advance of your travel.

- How long does a UK ETA last: It is valid for two years and permits visits to the UK for up to 6 months. Valid for entry by air, land and sea.
- Application fee: £10 (approx. 13 USD)
- How long it takes to receive:Â Approximately 3 working days.
- Travelling with children: Every family member needs their own UK ETA, regardless of age.
- New/multiple passports: A new UK ETA will be needed when issued with a new passport. Those with more than one passport must travel with the passport linked to the UK ETA.
Do UK ETA forms apply when arriving by private jet?
Yes, passengers arriving by private jet must have an UK ETA unless they are exempt.
