WHEN AND WHERE?
Luzhniki Stadium is located at the centre of Moscow’s 145-hectare Olympic complex, one of the largest sports complexes in the world. Luzhniki Stadium will be the main venue and the heart of the 2018 FIFA World Cup™ tournament, used for the Opening Match, a semi-final and the Final. The Luzhniki sports complex stretches along the Moscow River and lies opposite the beautiful Vorob’evy Hills Natural Park. The majestic Moscow State University observation area overlooks the stadium.
The other matches due to be played in Moscow will take place at the Otkrytiye Arena (Spartak Stadium).
The airport is located 30km south-west of the city centre of Moscow, it takes approximately 28 minutes to travel there by car.
At 42 kilometres (26 miles) away to the south east, it is less conveniently located for the city centre than Vnukovo, but it does offer FBO facilities for private aviation users.
The Krestovsky Stadium also called Zenit Arena, is a retractable roof stadium in the western portion of Krestovsky Island in Saint Petersburg, Russia, which serves as home for FC Zenit Saint Petersburg. The stadium was opened in 2017 for the FIFA Confederations Cup. Initially, it was planned to be completed by December 2008, which was changed to late 2011 and was scheduled to open in 2017.
The stadium has a capacity of 68,134 people. It is called Saint Petersburg Stadium during the 2017 FIFA Confederations Cup and 2018 FIFA World Cup.
SAINT PETERSBURG AIRPORTS
Pulkovo Airport is an international airport serving Saint Petersburg, Russia. It consists of one terminal, Terminal 1 which is located 23 km south of the city centre.
Kaliningrad is the capital of the Russian province of the same name, sandwiched between Poland and Lithuania along the Baltic Coast. Dubbed Königsberg during centuries of Prussian rule, the city was largely reconstructed after WWII. Traces of its German heritage can be seen in the surviving Brandenburg Gate and the riverside Fishing Village, a dining and shopping destination with re-created medieval-style buildings.
Khrabrovo Airport is the airport of Kaliningrad, located 24 kilometers north of the city near the village of Khrabrovo.
Kazan is a city in southwest Russia, on the banks of the Volga and Kazanka rivers. The capital of the Republic of Tatarstan, a semi-autonomous region, it's known for the centuries-old Kazan Kremlin, a fortified citadel containing museums and sacred sites. Kremlin landmarks include the tiered Tower of Soyembika, the blue-and-gold domed Annunciation Cathedral and the vast, colorful Kul Sharif Mosque.
Kazan International Airport is an airport located in Tatarstan, Russia, around 25 km southeast of Kazan. It is the largest airport in Tatarstan, and the 15th busiest airport in Russia.
Nizhny Novgorod colloquially shortened to Nizhny, is a city in the administrative centre of Volga Federal District and Nizhny Novgorod Oblast in Russia. From 1932 to 1990, it was known as after the writer Maxim Gorky, who was born there. The city is an important economic, transportation, scientific, educational and cultural centre in Russia and the vast Volga-Vyatka economic region, and is the main centre of river tourism in Russia. In the historic part of the city there are many universities, theatres, museums and churches. Nizhny Novgorod is located about 400 km east of Moscow.
NIZHNY NOVGOROD AIRPORTS
Strigino Airport, sometimes referred to as Nizhy Novgorod Airport, is located 14km southwest of the city centre of Nizhny Novgorod. The airport has a VIP lounge reserved for use by officials and government delegation. The airport is well connected to the local area, and there are plans to connect the airport via a high-speed railway to Moscow, with the railway line stretching between Moscow and Kazan.
